Ballinger Landscaping is a local leader in providing residential and commercial landscaping maintenance and improvement projects.
Job Summary
Ballinger Landscaping is recruiting a conscientious and dedicated Landscaping Maintenance Technician for our residential and commercial landscaping maintenance crew, based in Shoreline, WA. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for maintaining residential and commercial property landscaping and supporting improvement projects. The work involves a variety of outdoor tasks, such as cutting grass, trimming around trees and walkways, clearing debris, and other general landscaping tasks. Projects include seasonal cleanups, installing mulch, pressure washing, bush and tree pruning, etc.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing manual labor, including gardening, lawn mowing, and working with outdoor equipment. This individual will also have some knowledge of landscaping, as well as a desire to support the local community. The ability to follow direction, ask questions, pay attention to detail, and communicate confidently are all helpful.
Qualifications and Competencies
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED.
Interest in plants, gardening, landscaping.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge and ability to safely operate vehicles, tools, and power equipment related to grounds maintenance, including appropriate use and care of Personal Protective Equipment.
Communication Skills:
o Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors, co-workers, and customers.
o Good listening skills, including the ability to follow semi-complex instructions.
o Ability to read and write in the English language.
Ability to perform continual manual labor (bending, stooping, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, walking, holding hands above head, repetitive and vigorous tasks).
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Ability to build constructive working relationships characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual respect.
Ability to maintain composure and adapt to changing business needs, conditions, and work responsibilities.
Ability to work effectively and positively with individuals of diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Proficiency using smartphone applications (Jobber).
Special Requirements:
Consent to and pass a driver's and criminal records background check.
Must possess a valid driver's license in order to travel regularly between work sites.

Salary & Benefits:
The starting salary for this position is $24.00 - $26.00 per hour depending on experience and education.
There is paid time off and five paid holidays, whether you are scheduled those days or not.
Uniforms and PPE are provided. Initial boot and glove purchases are covered at 50%.
Continuing education and training is encouraged and compensated.
Physical Work Environment:
Incumbent(s) must be able to meet the physical requirements and have mobility, balance, coordination, vision, hearing and dexterity levels appropriate to the functions performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work is performed primarily in outdoor environments with exposure to dirt and dust, noise, fumes and odors in performing work. Work requires considerable physical exertion in completing tasks and requires bending, lifting, kneeling, climbing as well as working in tight spaces. Incumbent(s) frequently use power and hand tools and machinery including lawn mowers, string and hedge trimmers, blowers, etc. Work may occasionally expose incumbent to mechanical hazards during work.
