We are a local construction & property management company based out of Seattle that manages communities throughout King County. We are looking for an experienced Handy-Person/Maintenance Technician to join our rapidly growing team and company seasonally! Pay starts around 60,000 annually, hugely depending on relatable experience, and for the right candidate, an opportunity to join us full time now or at the end of your seasonal term!
The General Construction/Maintenance Technician will address common maintenance issues across multiple properties, performing a vast array of repairs, removal, remodels, and installations. They must be able to handle a host of common property issues including, but not limited to: Plumbing, Electrical, Framing, Heating, Flooring, Drywall, Painting, etc. They will be responsible for completing maintenance work orders, remodel/renovation projects, and other assigned tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform routine maintenance across multiple properties.
Be on time for work.
Communicate clearly and timely with all other staff.
Perform repairs, installations, removals, and replacements of damaged units, appliances, or buildings as requested.
Work as a team to complete projects as assigned.
Treat all stakeholders with respect and professionalism (staff, tenants, contractors, vendors, etc.)
Source quality value material for projects as requested.
Be on rotating “on-call” calendar, being available for emergencies.
Report times, duties, and any other requested information to management.
Follow all company policies and procedures.
Work in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, keeping safety at the forefront of any task.
Testing and recommending solutions to promote efficiency for all maintenance staff to management.
Keeping an inventory of all supplies and company-owned equipment/tools, reporting regularly to your supervisor.
Position Outline:
Satisfies service requests per work order, following company procedures:
Enters at resident's convenience, if possible
Makes repairs
Cleans up thoroughly
Observes condition of apartment and report any unusual circumstances
Leaves notice of work performed
Assists with apartment make-ready procedures:
Services appliances, plumbing, and electrical fixtures
Repairs or replaces old faulty parts
Checks locks
Paint
Replaces burned out light bulbs
Cleans carpets, windows, appliances
Preventative Maintenance:
Checks for appearance and cleanliness
Checks for structural cracks
Checks for excessive wear
Checks for faulty parts
Makes repairs or replacements, as necessary and with approval of the Resident Manager
Makes regular inspections of grounds, buildings, plumbing, electrical fixtures, appliances and major equipment.
Emergency Maintenance: Is on call for emergency duties when assigned
Remodels Clients' Homes in Alignment with Company Standards:
Enters at resident's convenience, if possible
Pays attention to detail, following instructions/plan carefullly
Cleans up thoroughly
Seeks efficiency and money-saving methods and supplies, but not at the cost of quality
Leaves notice of work performed
Required Skills/Abilities:
Technical proficiency
Organized, Efficient Time Management
Coachable, Listens to Direction
Well-rounded Construction knowledge (at least 3 years in the Construction/HandyPerson/Apartment Maintenance Industry)
Ability to perform all standard building maintenance duties with a working knowledge of heating, plumbing, and electrical. Experience with flooring, tile, granite, and roofing a plus
Positive attitude and willingness to participate in a team environment
Independent, Critical thinking skills
Compliance with all company policies and local/state/federal laws.
Valid Driver’s License, Clean Driving Record (no moving violations for 3 years or more)
Reliable transportation
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Set of own basic tools (some tools to be provided from company)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in different temperature settings.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Be able and willing to travel throughout region.
Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
Ability to use tools and equipment safely.
Perform fast, repeated movements for long periods of time.
Be able to communicate clearly and loudly for safety standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
