If you are assuming this is the run of the mill landscaper job, it isn’t. Don’t call it a landscaper role, it isn’t.

If you’re the type of person who needs constant direction, monitoring and management, I wish you well. This isn’t that job.

I have managed to put together what is probably for me and many others, a dream job.

Here it is:

Full-charge caretaker role, managing all growing things on an absolutely unique estate, including the usual (lawns, shrubs, etc.). The equipment, the supplies, all of it. It is all in your hands.

Full-time, year-round, includes vacation and sick time, regular check-ins and reviews, close support, cell phone, motorized equipment, you name it. Weekly pay — who wants to wait two weeks to get paid?

The client has very high standards, but mine (as the Estate Manager) are higher. Yours need to be even higher than mine.

I will hire the right person to lean on, to be proud of, to find ways to reward and help move your career and life forward. The opportunities here are truly limitless.

You’ve probably never had an employer like me. Everyone who has worked with me would agree. If you’re the right candidate, you’ll get to ask them yourself if you like.

Applicants should have or have as attributes:

-experience.

-no fear of responsibility.

-positive, “yes” attitudes. Look for ways to say yes.

-criminal history will be reviewed and have bearing on an offer.

-you’ll be part of a very unique operation, publicly available reporting may be consulted.

-good employment history. I know old bosses can be jerks, but your track record counts.

-solid transportation/options. Attendance is key.

-presentable in appearance. This means what you think it means, namely don’t startle people. Be clean and kempt. You’ll be an important face of the operation.

-be kind. Enough said.

-be smart, clever, and a problem solver.

-know what pride in your work is.

-be ready to commit to this role. This isn’t a temp job.

-be legally employable, and age 18 or older.

-be physically able to perform the work typical to this type of career field.

Work location is in the greater Stanwood area.

To apply, please send a note of interest to me. Because we’re both worthy of a little effort, show it in your letter.

If you have a resume, send it. If not, your letter should be useful in place of a resume.

Applicants who appear competitive for this role will be contacted, and a phone interview will follow. In-person interview after that, and a tour of the work location for the final candidate or two.

I look forward to how much fun this role will be. Good luck!

Diversity makes us all better. Women and members of underrepresented groups, folks from all walks of life are encouraged to apply!
