Position Overview:

Do you love Seattle, its places, the sights, and local people? Do you love sharing experiences with others, especially when it comes to food? Do people think you’ve had too much coffee when you haven’t even had your first sip of the day? Do you feel at home when presenting information in front of groups of people? Then we want to talk to you!

Savor Seattle Tour Guides are fun, driven, high-energy, enthusiastic individuals with a passion for food and community. We will provide the training to help you become knowledgeable about the history of Seattle and Pike Place Market, the foods and beverages we are famous for, and how to give a fun and engaging tour.

This position can be full-time, part-time or seasonal, with availability required for the weekends. We are offering a fantastic opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a small business and work with passionate individuals who are proud to represent Seattle and the Market. This is a dream job for someone with strong people skills and a motor mouth and wit to boot!

Preference will be given to applicants who have greater flexibility to take on extra shifts on short notice, as well as additional shifts in the busy summer months.

Key Responsibilities:

Guide as many as 16 guests on a two hour+ walking tour of Pike Place Market.

Serve over a dozen different tastings at six or more separate restaurants.

Provide facts, history and information about restaurants, food, Pike Place Market, and Seattle.

Foster and nurture personal relationships with all tasting partners as well as the greater Pike Place Market community.

Provide excellent customer service and act as ambassador for the company, the market, and Seattle.

Study and learn procedures and protocols, plus facts and information and willingness to learn new material as needed.

Assist with daily operations and maintenance of the tours, including: signing guests in for each tour, troubleshooting ticketing concerns, inventory management, and notifying the team of any pertinent changes or information in a timely fashion.

Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Energy to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsible and able to work successfully with little to no direct supervision.

Pass criminal background check.

Obtain Washington State Food Handlers permit prior to first tour (company will cover costs).

Obtain CPR/ First Aid training and certification (company will assist with coordinating a training course and cover costs).

Obtain Pike Place Market license which includes passing a short true false test (study guide is provided and company will cover license cost).

Lived in the Seattle area for at least one year (preferred).
