Day Shift – UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 07:00 – 16:00 (PST), Monday-Friday DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), Valley Medical Center (VMC), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

Operational leader and strategist for the departmental programs: IT Procurement, Travel, Facilities, and Safety
Oversight and leadership for the Documentation Management & Collaboration Requirements program, focusing on implementation to operationalization, enhancements, and maintenance
Oversight of IT employee communications with the People/Culture pillar, which includes change management strategies and tactics for adoption
Oversight and leadership for the IT Contractor Program which includes leading efforts to select or de-select vendors, coordinate with Supply Chain to negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, contractor/vendor relations to resolve billing and resource issues, ensure contractor compliance with regulatory and policy requirements, provide guidance and coaching to IT managers to determine best resource/best value with contractor resources, temps, etc., and fulfill requests for contractors per Statements of Work and associated master contract(s)
Thought leader and executive coach for ITS leaders, including managers, directors, and executives, to carry out the vision, advocacy, and strategic direction to engage and motivate information technology and business professionals
Strategic leader for the design, implementation, and management of programs focusing on the needs of the ITS environment and the broad range of domains within healthcare IT (e.g., nurses and physicians in informatics, programmers and database administrators, architects, business analysts, business intelligence developers, and operational professionals), focusing on ensuring ITS has the most current and up-to-date skills, knowledge, and competencies to meet evolving technologies and the demands of healthcare
Provide leadership for IT initiatives to support department teams and operations, including supporting an inclusive workplace, welcoming new team members into IT Services and collaborating with IT leaders on policies and procedures
Responsible for implementing, operationalizing, and ensuring compliance of enterprise-wide solutions brought forward by UW or UW Medicine
Leads and champions the department’s efforts in equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health Administration, Communications, Organizational Development, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
10+ years of experience to include: 6 years of experience in program/project management that support IT operational initiatives and day-to-day business needs
5 years of experience in a matrixed management environment
5 years of experience managing and negotiating customer and vendor relationships
Demonstrated management and leadership capabilities with ability to influence in a matrix environment
Demonstrated ability to navigate highly complex regulatory environments
