Overview:
Gabrielle Family Vision Care is seeking a full-time Vision Therapist to join our clinic in Kirkland, WA. The ideal candidate will have experience working with kids, teens, and adults and is committed to helping our patients improve their vision. If you are a former teacher with classroom and planning experience or have a medical background, you are encouraged to apply. On the job training is provided by staff doctors and vision therapists.
We are an optometry clinic that works with patients to help them solve more complex vision problems through specialized developmental patient centered eye health evaluations, weekly vision therapy, and other eye care needs including contact lens fittings. Job Requirements:
Provides vision therapy services and plan activities for children, teens, and adults as prescribed by the optometrists
Monitors patient progress
Ability to work closely with all optometrists, colleagues, admin, and parents
Maintains complete and up to date chart notes
Performs other duties as related to vision therapy (i.e., developing new vision therapy activities)
Performs other duties as assigned or required outside of the vision therapist role (i.e., administrative duties of greeting patients, answering phones, responding to emails, copying, filing, checking in/out patients, etc.)
Completes projects as assigned in a timely manner
Willingness to work until 7 pm 4 days out of the week and until 6 pm 1 day a week
Maintains confidentiality in accordance to HIPAA regulations
Required background check and drug screen
Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent and clear communication skills through writing emails or speaking with others
Efficient and organized with detail-oriented work ethic
Ability to learn quickly and apply what is learned on a daily basis and open to feedback
Ability to make ethical decisions and use logic and reasoning when identifying alternative solutions to problems that arise
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher), data entry skills and ability to research topics on the internet
Proficient in typing 40 words per minute (or more)
Has experience working with children and patients with special needs
High school graduate (some college preferred)

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:
Must be able to bend, crouch, reach over shoulder height. kneel, or crawl in performance of job duties
Must be able to lift and carry vision therapy equipment, patient records, etc., weighting more than 10 lbs.
Must be able to identify and understand the speech of another person
Must be able to speak clearly so others can understand you
Must be able to sit or stand for short, intermittent and/or long periods in performance of job duties
May be required to use in the job duties, various types of equipment or supplies, including but not limited to vision therapy equipment, copying, and computers
