Building Blocks Nursery School (www.buildingblocksnurseryschool.org), located in the Bryant neighborhood of Seattle, is looking to hire a Preschool teacher for our 2-3 year old classroom. This is a full time position.
Job duties include:
Interact positively with all children to encourage an open and engaging learning environment
Plan, implement and manage curriculum
Document learning, including daily updates, photos and online resources
Communicate regularly and respectfully with families, including ongoing written assessment of individual children, 2x yearly parent/teacher conferences, etc.
Clean, organize and maintain the classroom and all teaching materials
Perform other tasks as assigned/needed
Required Qualifications:
Be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must hold a High School Diploma/GED; preference given to candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree or CDA or Associate’s in Early Childhood Education
Strong working knowledge of child development and early childhood education for ages 2-5 with at least one year professional experience
Excellent communication skills with children, staff, parents, and administration
Self starter with strong accountability
CPR/First Aid/BBP training
Second language, music, or dance skills a bonus
Able to routinely kneel, bend, crouch and sit on the floor for extended periods of time
Able to stand, walk and sit on child sized chairs throughout the day
Must meet state licensing requirements for education and additional center/school requirements
