Preschool Assistant Teacher

Washington, Seattle-tacoma

Vacancy caducado!

Hutch Kids Child Care Center provides care for infants, toddlers, and preschool aged children. We are seeking experienced candidates for the position of Preschool Assistant Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year (begins July 8, 2024). The ideal candidate will be able to start June 10th so onboarding can be completed prior to the new school year, however, we are flexible for both an earlier (mid-April) and later (mid-late June) start date.

At Hutch Kids, we use the Creative Curriculum as a framework to thoughtfully construct a child-centered, developmentally appropriate, emergent curriculum that encourages children's self-confidence, spontaneity, curiosity, and self-discipline.

As a whole and within each classroom, we consider ourselves a community of learners. Teachers work as a team with a co-teacher and an assistant teacher to develop and implement a positive, nurturing and stimulating environment suited for the individual developmental needs of each child. Low classroom ratios allow for the development of secure, lasting relationships between children, teachers, and families. Hutch Kids is accredited by NAEYC and participates in Early Achievers.

Strong candidates will be patient and professional, with a child-centered philosophy of how children learn and grow. Must be a team player and love all children. Must have a minimum of a Washington State ECE Certificate (or be working towards your degree), though a AA in ECE is preferred and a minimum of 1-years teaching experience with young toddlers. As an Early Achievers participating center, our faculty have access to scholarships and grants that cover their entire tuition for Early Childhood Education programs at the Seattle Colleges.

Hutch Kids is committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for children, families, and staff. Individuals who are male identifying, members of the BIPOC community, and who represent a marginalized community are encouraged to apply given that their unique experiences and perspectives directly supports the need for young children to have both mirrors and windows within our community.

Salary range for this position is $22.75-$23.50/hour.

Please submit a cover letter and resume to be considered for the position.
