This position will work 24-29 hours per week and is expected to last through March 2025.

WHO YOU ARE

As our new Cash Office Clerk we know you will be successful in this role because you:

Possess Strong Cash Handling Skills: You are confident in your ability to work with cash, ensuring accuracy. You can prepare daily gate deposits and work closely with cash delivery personnel skills. You can hold yourself accountable and handle changes with positivity.

Remain Cool: As our new Cash Office Clerk, you can remain professional and courteous when resolving customer issues. Using good analytical skills and sound decision making as your guide, you can handle customer calls related to admissions issues with care and compassion, including processing refunds when warranted.

Are a Policy Expert: You can understand, explain, and enforce policies to on-site staff, other zoo departments, and the public in a clear and confident manner.

Are Confident: You can confidently assist with the handling processes for providing City Passes, complimentary tickets, and other special admissions related mechanism as they arise.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare daily gate deposits and work with cash delivery personnel.

Handle customer calls in relation to admission issues, including processing refunds when warranted.

Assist with auditing gate staff for compliance of required procedures and policies.

Assist with the handling processes for City Passes, complimentary tickets, and other special admissions mechanisms.

Provide support for other Finance areas, primarily Accounts Payable.

Maintain control records, files, and other paperwork.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to speak a language in addition to English.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one year cash handling related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Able to understand, explain, and enforce policies to on-site staff, other zoo departments and the public in a clear and confident manner.

Proficient with computers and software applications such as MS Excel and Word.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to adapt communication based on audience and purpose with inclusivity.

Ability to work independently and within diverse teams and environments while treating everyone with respect.

Successful applicants must live and work in Washington State to perform this role.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
