Part-Time Bookkeeper needed for Non-Profit organization located in Olympia.
This is a part-time position with Olympia Youth Chorus, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization established in 1995. The position requires attending the first Monday of the month rehearsals (September-May) at Washington Middle School, 3100 Cain Rd SE, Olympia, WA 98501, 4:15 -7:15 p.m., and preparation of the deposit for the bank. Prior experience working for a non-profit is a plus. Pay is dependent on qualifications and experience.
Must have:
Proficiency in QuickBooks 2023 or above, MS Excel, Word
A broad knowledge of accounting with ability to handle strict attention to detail.
Reliable transportation for mail pickup and bank deposits.
Ability to work well with staff, families, children, and a Board of Directors.
Essential Job Duties:
Monitor singer registrations, maintain organization enrollment records for reporting
Receive tuition payments at rehearsals (once a month) and auditions (twice annually)
Complete financial paperwork for homeschool families/organizations
Administer financial aid applications and manage financial aid award contracts
Regularly monitor Gmail account for payment correspondence
Maintain the tuition and organizational fees accounting functions for OYC, including bank accounts and the ability to correctly class and code entries for A/R, A/P and G/L
Make deposits and do monthly reconciliations to bank accounts
Accounts receivable including posting fees and payments/sending statements/email reminders
Accounts payable including vendor records maintenance, receiving and preparing payments for bills (checks to be signed by Executive Director/Choir Manager and or Treasurer)
Preparation of cash flow statements and month end financial statements
Prepare monthly check payments to self-employed staff, time sheet verification, substitute payments
All required Federal and State Reporting: prepare annual 1099s, file 1096 and 990 forms
Create and review annual budget with Executive Director
Other Job Duties as assigned including but not limited to:
Attending quarterly Board Meetings to present financial reports (prepare and distribute prior to meetings)
Mail pick up and distribution
Filing and other miscellaneous work as assigned.
