Full-Charge Bookkeeper
Public accounting firm located in the Georgetown neighborhood with a small, dedicated and fun team looking to add an experienced bookkeeper. We work primarily with small and closely-held businesses providing tax, bookkeeping, and payroll solutions. We greatly enjoy our work and value our clients; there will be many opportunities to build and contribute based on your interests and strengths.
Description of Job Duties
Bank and credit card transaction classifying and reconciliations
Preparing month-end and year-end journal entries
Vendor bill-pay and customer invoicing
Communicating professionally and timely with clients and coworkers via email, via phone and zoom
State and local excise tax filings (primarily Washington)
Running payrolls and submitting quarterly and annual payroll tax filings
Problem-solving and striving for improved efficiency, accuracy, consistency and transparency in all aspects of daily work tasks and work product
Participate as both a mentor to less experienced bookkeepers and as a mentee with more experienced team members
Two to three check-ins weekly with manager and team members
We are looking for someone who is/has:
Proficient with QuickBooks Online and Office 365 (Teams, Excel, Outlook, Word and Loop)
Expertise with payroll preparation software, Gusto and QBO-Payroll a plus
Experience using Box (online file storage and collaboration) or similar data management system.
Relevant Computer and Internet Skills
Detail-oriented and proactive
Strong time management skills
Demonstrates excellent communication full of compassion and tact with colleagues and clients
4+ years of full charge bookkeeping or 2+ years of CPA firm experience and/or an accounting degree
We strongly prefer someone who:
Has worked remotely
Has worked at bookkeeping firm with multiple clients and colleagues
Has used Project Management tools or software
Brings a positive energy and engagement to the team
Is looking for a team where they can creatively contribute and feel appreciated and proud of the work they do for clients

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour

8-hour shifts Monday to Friday
Or 10-hour shifts Monday-Thursday

Experience:
QuickBooks: 4 years (Required)
CPA or Law firm: 1 year (Preferred)
