The WRPS mission is to safely store, retrieve, and treat 56 million gallons of legacy radioactive and hazardous waste. This complex mission spans all competencies of engineering/science accomplished through a highly integrated organization engineering organization. Engineering at WRPS consists of process engineering, design engineering, nuclear safety, plant/system engineering, construction project engineering, procurement engineering, process and control system engineering, engineering standards/program implementation, and the Chief Technology Office. These areas support all areas of the tank farm mission including Retrievals, Production Operations, Field Projects, Waste Feed Delivery Projects, and long-term innovations.The Electrical Engineer will serve as a project engineer supporting a variety of Tank Farm projects with a focus on electrical and Instrumentation & Control (I&C) design. The engineer will serve as both the sole engineer as well as part of a team of engineers on larger projects that encompass multiple engineering disciplines. Typical tasks include reviewing and revising electrical drawings, creating, editing and modifying Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Drawing Change Notices (DCNs) and Modification Travelers. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting errors and issues in the field and determining a recommended path forward. The engineer will work with the Project Manager as well as internal and external design firms. The engineer will be involved in the start-up, testing and commissioning of new systems and technology.

Act as a fully competent engineer in the functional and technical area of assignments. Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation or modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of engineering including a general knowledge of related disciplines.

Prepare technical manuals, reports, procedures and deliver technical presentations to engineering, operations, projects, and customer organizations.

Develop and sustain productive customer relationships.

Support preparation of Statements of Work, design products, procurements, specifications, etc.

Prepare and approve Engineering documents, evaluations, and calculations.

Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight

Ability to solve highly technical problems
