Azure has experienced explosive growth for years now and shows no signs of slowing. Customers are migrating traditional server-based infrastructure to the cloud in droves as they enter the world of managed Kubernetes and containers. As with traditional servers, containers need networks to do just about anything useful and the Azure Container Networking (ACN) team is responsible for innovating, building, and evolving the entire containerized networking platform for Azure worldwide.The ACN team is looking for an experienced, technically oriented Principal Product Manager to help define our long-term container networking strategy and to innovate across net-new features as well as drive improvements in performance and scale. This opportunity will allow the right candidate to take on the responsibility for ensuring that container networking meets and exceeds the needs of Azure Kubernetes customers and internal teams alike. The role requires a blend of product innovation, strategic thinking, cross-team collaboration, and external customer engagement. Shape and execute a multi-year vision, strategy, and execution plan for container networking.

Lead key partnerships and cross-functional relationships with engineering, partner teams, and both first- and third-party customers to establish strategy, technical vision, and product roadmap.

Bring key stakeholders and collaborators from multiple organizations together driving consensus & engineering timelines.

Engage with customers directly and indirectly in formal and informal scenarios to gain a deep understanding of their needs.

Envision and design new capabilities that delight customers and exceed their requirements.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development.

OR equivalent experience.

2+ years of technical, hands-on experience with Kubernetes/AKS, computer networking, or general cloud technologies.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

OR equivalent experience.

Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies.

Product Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
