Monitors and adjusts patient flow to minimize wait-time; identifies excessive volumes and makes arrangements for increased staff.
Serves as a resource to staff on the protocols of the MRI equipment and responsible for the maintenance of such equipment.
Provides on-the-job training and mentoring to new or lower-level employees; prepares work schedules and reviews work to ensure it meets quality and productivity standards; educates staff on magnet safety and practice; identifies training needs and advises higher-level authority.
Monitors individual staff performance and provides feedback to higher-level authority; coaches employees on procedures and protocols; may provide input into formal employee performance evaluations.
Maintains level of supplies and orders supplies as needed.
Additional Education/Work ExperienceOne year of work experience in the senior level of the job family, or any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.Additional Job Requirements
Considerable knowledge of the policies, standards, procedures, processes and tools applicable to the work unit and the function.
Ability to effectively monitor patient flow and equipment operation and take appropriate action as necessary within scope of authority.
QualificationsEducation/Work Experience RequirementsGraduation from an accredited school of Radiological Technology.Job Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of the concepts, standards, procedures and equipment relating to MRI examination and related procedures.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI safety, examinations and equipment.
Knowledge of basic patient care activities that may be necessary during MRI examinations.
Ability to document work activities in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
Ability to use automated systems and MRI equipment at an acceptable level of proficiency.
Ability to keep abreast of all education/training opportunities to ensure that MRI skills are kept current and/or updated.
Ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
Licensure/Certification
American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) certification is required.
State of Washington Certification as a Radiological Technologist required.
ARRT MRI Certification is preferred.
Current healthcare provider BLS Certification.
