Introduction:
We are a dynamic team dedicated to producing high-quality, sustainable organic soil. We're looking for a motivated Soil Making Assistant to join us on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work and is interested in sustainable agriculture.
Key Responsibilities:
Handling Materials: Move heavy totes and organize them within the greenhouse for different stages of the soil making process.
Machine Operation: Operate machinery to sift compost and remove worms from finished castings.
Mixing Ingredients: Participate in mixing soil castings with biochar using a cement mixer to prepare the final soil product.
Product Preparation: Assist in bagging the finished product, sealing bags securely, and preparing them for distribution by loading into vehicles or boxing.
Requirements:
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items.
- Comfortable operating or learning to operate soil sifting and mixing machinery.
- Good organizational skills to efficiently handle materials and keep the production area tidy.
- A team player who can work well with others and follow instructions.
Work Hours & Compensation:
- Approximately 10 hours per week.
