Jefferson County Public Works seeks a full-time (40 hrs/week) Engineer Permit Tech I or II. Responsibilities include permitting and inspection of work occurring within the public road right-of-way, including coordination with utilities, contractors, the County Road Crew, the Dept. of Community Development, and citizens.
Engineer Tech I: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years’ work experience in a technical field related to permitting, engineering, civil construction, surveying, or utilities; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience. (7 Step) Pay Range from $26.49/hr. to $31.66/hr. DOE.
Engineer Tech II: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years’ work experience as an Engineering Tech I; OR, High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and four (4) years’ work experience in a technical field related to permitting, engineering, civil construction, surveying, or utilities; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience. (7 Step) Pay Range from $28.30/hr. to $33.82/hr. DOE.
