Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Customer Service Representative in the health insurance industry, located in Mountlake Terrace, Washington. This role is centered on providing high-quality service to customers, primarily individuals seeking to enroll in insurance. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer inquiries, maintaining customer records, and processing customer applications.Responsibilities: Handle Medicare-related calls, collecting necessary information to determine the correct agent to assist the caller Utilize various systems to search, input, and update customer information Develop relationships with customers, both in person and over the phone, to ensure a positive customer experience Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound customer service calls, providing first call resolution and educating callers where necessary Follow up on pending items and direct incoming paperwork to the correct departments for completion Handle sensitive customer information, adhering to Personal Protected Information (PPI) requirements Conduct routine research as needed and route inquiries requiring further investigation to the appropriate department Assist with various departmental projects including data entry and audits Maintain a positive tone of voice and demonstrate empathy with callers, providing needed information in a timely manner Demonstrate strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to articulate messages and information clearly and accurately. Requirements Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within the insurance industry. Demonstrated ability in data entry, with an emphasis on accuracy and speed. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365. Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively, with strong prioritization skills. Experience in conducting research and gathering information. Experience in handling inbound and outbound calls in a call center environment. Knowledge of insurance coverage, specifically health insurance, and Medicare. Effective phone presence, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Leadership skills, with the capacity to guide and motivate a team. Experience in handling paperwork and financial notes in an organized and efficient manner. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Familiarity with Clinical Trial Operations and HealthCare.gov. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. Innovation skills, with an ability to suggest improvements in processes and services. Experience with blogging would be advantageous. Familiarity with secure internet protocols such as HTTPS. Flexibility to work onsite as required. Ability to join meetings remotely using tools such as 'Join Me'. Proficiency in call center operations.
