Frenchman Hills Vineyard and Quarry (Between Moses Lake and Othello, WA) is seeking an experienced working Lead Mechanic to join our team!
We are part of a mid-sized, family-owned commercial real estate company with a reputation for quality and integrity over 50 years. Our Othello, WA operation includes vineyards, farming, and quarry operations. You will thrive in our straightforward work environment of “get it done” with a sense of humor.
What you will be doing
You will be the Lead Mechanic who ensures company vehicles, vineyard farm equipment, and heavy equipment is maintained in excellent working condition and meeting all standards for safe operation.
-You will define, prioritize, schedule, and execute repairs and preventative maintenance for: highway tractors, dump trucks, trailers, farm equipment, tractors, implements, and heavy equipment (including excavators, loaders, dozers, off-highway trucks, and graders)
Requirements for you to be considered
-5+years experience as lead mechanic in a multi-faceted organization
-Thorough understanding of diesel/gas engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems
-Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-Proven ability to comply with safety requirements and procedures
-Team player and assist coworkers with other duties as required
-Able to work M-F, 40+ hour daytime schedule, with occasional weekend and nights during busy seasons
-Able to work outside of maintenance facility in all types of weather for field repairs
-Able to exert 10-20 lbs force constantly to move objects; 25-50 lbs of force frequently, and 50-100lbs of force occasionally. Includes lifting of same.
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Valid Driver’s License
-Stable job history and strong professional references
-Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen (We are a Drug Free Workplace)
Things that are not requirements, but that we prefer:
-Bilingual English-Spanish
-Certificate or degree in heavy/agricultural equipment maintenance and repair
-Two-year mechanic certificate from college or technical school
-Class “A” CDL
-Previous MSHA training
