Trades HelperLocation - Kent, WashingtonPay - $22-25 per hourJob Description - Join our team as a Trades Helper and perform a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving shipboard systems and components. Your tasks will include:
Repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining boilers, pumps, and valves.
Working on auxiliary equipment, pumps, valves, and boiler systems aboard ships.
Performing major mechanical overhauls and repairs on gasoline and marine engines, outboard motors, and related marine equipment using schematic charts and technical manuals.
Establishing and maintaining a preventive maintenance program for marine engines and related equipment.
Testing marine engines and equipment to determine the need for repairs or adjustments.
Repairing and maintaining hydraulic equipment and valves.
Operating hand and power tools associated with marine engine and equipment repair.
Assisting in the fabrication of equipment.
Essential Skills
General knowledge of shipboard equipment operation, disassembly/assembly, testing, and record keeping.
Minimum 1 year of experience in the ship repair industry.
Ability to set up and operate shop and portable machining tools or equipment.
General machinist knowledge, including the use of required measuring instruments, necessary hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand engineering prints, technical manuals, and diagrams.
