Job Description

Finance Shared Services maintains key transactional processes for the company and maintains a customer-centric attitude. The Accounting Associate I may work in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable. The Accounting Associate I on the Accounts Payable side enters data into the paperless system; processes payments for vendors and works closely with the Purchasing department to resolve outstanding invoices. On the Accounts Receivable side, the Accounting Associate applies payment to invoices appropriately ensuring cash flow is maximized and works closely with Credit Manager.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review billing/invoice distribution, apply cash receipts from customers and work with Credit Manager to work through collection items or process invoices in SAP and paperless software systems and work closely with the Purchasing Department to ensure invoices are paid timely.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers to provide requested data
  • Issue debit/credit memos, miscellaneous billings, scrap reconciliations, recovering billing, or process payments for vendors
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives for cash application and payments
  • Complete month end entries and financial statement submission by deadlines
  • Prepare audit work papers as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Associates degree or 2 additional years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or other Finance/Accounting role in lieu of degree

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting
  • 1+ year experience with SAP
  • Experience with larger ERP system preferable SAP and with paperless software
