Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) , Electronics Systems Design Center – Avionics Display organization has an exciting position for Electronics Systems Manager (Level K) in Everett, WA .Position Overview:In this role you will apply your leadership skills, technical expertise, and commitment to quality to lead a team of engineers in supporting design and certification of many/all current and future BCA programs. In this capacity, we coordinate and cooperate with diverse groups, from virtually all engineering teams, to pilots, operators and regulators to deliver the safest, most efficient aircraft in the modern global airspace system.This is not a union represented position.Position Responsibilities:
Interfacing with regulators, suppliers, internal Boeing stakeholders, pilots, customer airlines, and industry relations in support of program objectives.
Overseeing requirements development and design work related to the respective systems being managed from higher level aircraft requirements through lower level supplier requirements.
Design, build, integration of system hardware, software. Development of lab facilities and testing of responsible systems.
Technical and safety assessment support of in-service aircraft in relation to responsible system performance.
Oversight and technical management of supplier development programs.
Overseeing test schedule, execution, and PR troubleshooting/resolution in the Labs.
Certification compliance and regulator engagement on relevant system regulations, developing and approving compliance plans, issue papers, and overseeing execution of these tasks with the FAA and foreign certification agencies.
Overseeing creation of system owned flight test plans, WSRDs, and procedures.
Managing problem reports (PRs) and flight squawks throughout flight test in support of certification and entry into service.
Tracking and managing budget and schedule commitments with program leadership.
Eliminating/mitigating roadblocks and risks both technical and program management related.
Develop, grow, and mentor the team.
Attract, hire and retain talent in support of the Electrical Subsystems and Avionics skill teams.
Manage budget and schedule commitments across multiple programs supported by Design Center teams.
Help prioritize teams work.
Provide status and communicate risks, issues, and roadblocks to Design Center leadership.
Work to eliminate/mitigate roadblocks and risks both technical and program management related across the entire team's SOW.
Work Authorization:This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at Everett, WA. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
5+ years of experience in an engineering role.
3+ years of experience leading teams or projects.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience interacting with and presenting to senior management.
Strong desire to mentor, develop and grow team members.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a resource-scarce environment.
Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Interest in understanding and then guiding the integration of new technologies into evolving airplane designs.
Typical Education/ Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
