Responsible for supporting, developing and implementing all aspects of the EHS function covering multiple west coast locations (Eugene, OR; SantaFe Springs, CA; Corona, CA and based out of Enumclaw, WA.)
Manages an EHS Leader while reporting to the Division EHS Manager with dotted line reporting to Business Unit Manager(s) across the Division.
Actively works with functional leaders for integration of EHS into operational areas (Lean, Quality, Supply Chain & Manufacturing Engineering) and functional areas (Marketing/Sales, Finance, HR & IT.) to support business objectives. Leverage existing systems and procedures in those functional areas to the extent possible in EHS management.
Coordinates all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) management to successfully meet or exceed the enterprise, division, business unit and locations goals.
Responsible for setting strategies in a variety of EHS areas such as –
Responsible for leading and executing EHS programs and procedures cascaded from Corporate, Group or Division to meet enterprise, division, business units and location EHS objectives and targets with an emphasis on Safety and Accident Prevention, EHS Regulatory Compliance and Resource Conservation.
Responsible for leading and execution of applicable EHS management systems which includes the Corporate EHS Directives, ISO 14001 certification and any other applicable EHS management system certifications or elements.
Responsible for EHS reporting which includes performance against targets and goals, regulatory reporting, and corporate, business units and customer required reporting.
Manages an EHS training program for applicable EHS training required across the business units and locations from team member to leader.
Manages an EHS corrective action program which would include EHS audits, regulatory inspections, industrial accidents, customer EHS audits and other assessments that identify EHS issues that require corrective action with the exception of environmental remediation of property.
Manages a resource conservation program which will include but not be limited to energy use, water use and waste generated from production.
Leads an EHS program for change which includes new processes, equipment, materials and people.
Manages or supports, as directed, for acquisitions, divestitures, facility closure and environmental remediation of property.
Leads by example to develop an EHS culture of excellence for safety and environmental management through effective communication.
Manages the EHS aspects of contractors that do work on site.
Supports the development and execution on EHS strategy for the business units and locations.
College or College Equivalent Degree in a technical field such as EHS, engineering, or science.
5+ years of applicable EHS experience.
Experience in an industrial work environment with EHS responsibilities.
A solid working knowledge of EHS regulations.
Experience in industrial safety management.
Experience with leading aspects of an EHS program.
Experience with resource conservation management.
EHS certifications a plus.
Must have good skills in leading and influencing change and be an agent of change management.
Must be competent in developing a strategic plan.
Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence people at all levels.
Must be able to comprehend and interpret applicable EHS requirements and translate them into the business language for clear understanding by the business unit leaders and team members.
Must be able to learn and understand the business.
Must have strong process skills for standardization, continuous improvement and program management.
Must have a passion for EHS and able to translate into practical action.
Must have good problem-solving skills and experience.
Must be able to work independently.
Flexibility to alter work schedules, travel to site locations (up to 50% travel) & corporate meetings as needed.
Compensation & Benefits We offer a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package which includes:
Salary Range for this position based in Enumclaw, WA is: $103,117 - $180,511.
This position is eligible for a 15% target Annual Cash Incentive Bonus Plan, based upon various factors including division performance.
To help promote a healthy work/life balance, this position is eligible for 20 PTO days, 2 floating holidays and 11 paid holidays (prorated based on date of hire.)
