About Hamir Holdings:

Hamir Holdings is a dynamic real estate development company specializing in residential renovations, remodels, and new builds across the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia border regions. With multiple ongoing projects in the Blaine, WA, and Vancouver, BC areas, we're committed to transforming properties into high-quality homes that exceed client expectations. Our team values craftsmanship, efficiency, and innovation, and we're expanding to bring on skilled professionals who can help us deliver exceptional results. If you're passionate about real estate development and have a knack for leading teams through complex remodels, this is your opportunity to join a growing company with a track record of successful projects.

Position Overview:

We're seeking a highly experienced Handyman/Team Lead to oversee the final stages of our home finishing projects in Blaine, WA, while contributing to multiple remodels in the surrounding Vancouver, BC area. Not only must you possess strong leadership skills, but you are required to know how to perform the trades yourself – this is a hands-on role where you'll be actively working alongside your team. You'll have helpers to assist with tasks, but you'll lead by example, ensuring quality through your own expertise. This position is ideal for a versatile professional who can handle direct trade work while managing a small team of workers (painters, assemblers, and subcontractors) to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You'll be instrumental in wrapping up current renovations and transitioning to new developments, focusing on quality control and efficient execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Hands-On Trade Work: Directly perform carpentry (framing, trim, installations), electrical tasks (wiring, outlets, fixtures – in compliance with safety standards), painting (interior/exterior prep and finishing), fixture assembly and installation (lights, cabinets, hardware), and general finishing touches (caulking, touch-ups, cleanup). You must be capable of executing these tasks independently and proficiently.

Leadership and Team Management: Lead a team of 4-6 helpers and workers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, providing guidance, and resolving on-site issues. You'll work alongside your helpers to keep the remodel on schedule, ensuring all adhere to safety protocols and best practices.

Project Oversight: Coordinate multi-project support across Blaine and Vancouver areas, including site assessments, material sourcing, and client walkthroughs. Identify potential delays or issues early and implement solutions.

Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, ensure all work meets building codes, and document progress for reporting to project managers.

Requirements:

Proven Hands-On Experience: Minimum 5+ years directly performing carpentry, electrical, and general handyman work, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role on home remodels or construction projects. You must demonstrate the ability to do the trades yourself – not just supervise. Experience in real estate development or multi-site renovations is highly preferred.

Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and motivate a team of helpers, with strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges during remodels.

References and Portfolio: Must provide professional references from previous employers or clients, along with examples of past hands-on work (photos, project summaries, or certifications).

Technical Skills: Proficient in using hand and power tools; familiarity with construction software or apps for project tracking is a bonus.

Physical and Logistical Demands: Ability to lift heavy items (50+ lbs), work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required; ability to cross the US-Canada border (passport or enhanced ID) is essential for Vancouver-area projects.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, attention to detail, and a team-oriented mindset. Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to quality workmanship.

Certifications: Preferred: Journeyman-level certifications in carpentry or electrical, OSHA safety training, or equivalent Canadian qualifications (e.g., Red Seal).

What We Offer:

Competitive base salary of $80,000/year, plus bonuses tied to project completion milestones, efficiency, and quality (potential to earn 10-20% additional annually).

Opportunities for growth within Hamir Holdings, including advancement to project manager roles on larger developments.

Steady work on multiple projects, providing job security and variety, with helpers to support your hands-on efforts.

Supportive work environment with tools and materials provided; potential for benefits like health insurance or tool allowances (negotiable based on experience).

Chance to contribute to exciting real estate transformations in a beautiful border region.

This is more than just a job – it's a chance to lead meaningful projects that shape communities while staying hands-on with the work you love. If you have the skills, experience, and drive to excel as a Handyman/Team Lead who can do the trades yourself and manage helpers effectively, we want to hear from you! Reply with your resume, a summary of relevant hands-on experience, references, and availability. Serious inquiries only – no agencies or recruiters.

Apply today and help Hamir Holdings build the future!
