Experienced Diesel Mechanic - Service Lube Technician
Two years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of training and experience is preferred.
Mechanics are required to possess (or obtain with 3 months of hire date) and maintain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Air brake certification; and CDL medical card.
Physical exam, pre-employment drug test, background checks, and agility test. SSC also conducts a random drug and alcohol test program. Applicants with a current CDL must also register online at FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
Job Duties:
Performs mechanical repairs on Company gas, diesel and CNG vehicle fleet including garbage trucks, recycling trucks, and commercial pick-up and delivery vehicles. Also repairs and maintains brake systems, hydraulics and general vehicle maintenance.
Experience should include:
Class 8 Diesel trucks
A good understanding of 12V electrical systems
An understanding of hydraulic systems
Ability to weld and fabricate
Ability to work and stay on task without constant guidance.
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. overhead and do strenuous work.
Ability to learn and improve
Shouldn’t be afraid to get dirty.
Will need own tools to perform expected job tasks.
