Our client is a registered vehicle importer in Whatcom County, Washington. They ensure that each vehicle meets all necessary safety and regulatory standards, providing efficient services to their dealer customers.
They are seeking a highly organized and solution-orientated Manager to oversee the daily operations at their Registered Importer facility. The individual will require strong organizational and problem-solving skills to balance operational efficiency while achieving business goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer relationship and team-building skills while ensuring compliance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations: Oversee and manage daily RI operations including timely and accurate vehicle onboarding and DOT photos, speedo conversions/programming, vehicle inspections and logistics coordination.
Team Management: Manage a team of approximately 10 employees and contractors, providing strong oversight, guidance, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
Customer Relationships: Build and maintain cooperative relationships with customers, addressing expectations and any issues that arise, while fostering a positive customer experience.
Vendor Management: Source and manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Documentation: Accurately capture all vehicle updates and statuses in our proprietary technology platform.
Delivery Coordination: Coordinate/oversee the delivery of vehicles to dealers in WA and OR, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Support internal teams by providing all necessary vehicle information and statuses to support their responsibilities in the import process.
Skills and Experience:
Experience: Strong organizational skills, and people management are an absolute requirement. Preference will be given to applicants with Registered Importer or high-volume dealership lot experience or direct experience within the US vehicle import industry.
Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills fostering collaborative relationships with team members, customers, and vendors
Problem Solving: Well-developed ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Technical Proficiency: Technically savvy to operate within our tech platforms.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with DOT regulations for Registered Importers is preferred.
