Responsibilities:
- QuickBooks management (data entry, records maintenance, reports generation, invoicing, etc.)
- Assist and manage multiple client accounts
- Accounts receivable and account payable
- Prepare new employment paperwork and set up new employees
- Generate daily financial reporting as requested
- Monthly updates and reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
- Prepare state tax returns for both US and Canada
- Prepare preliminary financial statements
- Prepare and maintain documents, reports, and records
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- Bookkeeping tasks such as accounts payable, account analysis, and double entry bookkeeping
- Communicate with clients via person, phone or email regarding account status
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence when needed
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office
- Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- QuickBooks Desktop proficiency is necessary
- 3 years of bookkeeping is required
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant or relevant role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices (accounting software, technical accounting, corporate accounting)
- Familiarity with governmental accounting is a plus
- Experience in public accounting is a plus
