Hours- Sundays starting mid May and Saturdays starting mid June, shifts are 10-12 hours
Job location- Farm: Everson, WA; Markets: Multiple locations in Seattle area
Position Summary-
We are seeking a responsible, self-driven person with a passion for farming/the farmers market community and a great customer service personality.
Truckers will arrive at the farm in the morning, load trucks with produce, drive to Seattle, set up the stand and sell produce, break down the stand and reload the truck, return to the farm, and unload the truck. You will be accompanied by another trucker at the farm or meet another employee in Seattle.
Responsibilities-
Arrive at the farm early in the morning to load the truck with corresponding produce (others will assist as well)
Drive to Seattle and arrive at the market with about 2-3 hours to set up
Set up tents, tables, and veggie displays in an attractive and organized fashion
Sell produce to upwards of 100 people per shift, quickly work through lines of customers
Handle cash box and square sales and total sales at the end of your markets
Pack up the stand and reload the truck
Drive back to Everson and unload leftover produce back into the cooler
Required Skills-
Lift 50 lbs many times throughout the course of a day
Valid driver's license- drive a large box truck with care and ease through the busy streets of Seattle (no experience needed- we can teach you)
Handle a cash box and square POS system quickly and efficiently, and eventually memorize produce prices
Customer service skills
Knowledge about agriculture and preparation of produce- or a willingness to learn! Customers will often ask questions about the produce we sell
Preferred-
Availability to cover for Wednesday/Thursday shifts on occasion
Basic Spanish
Compensation-
$200/day flat rate plus 3% commission of total sales split between workers
Free produce
Ability to trade with other market vendors
