About Us:
Alexei Ford Design Build is a small, uniquely creative, design-build firm based in Bellingham Washington. We focus on residential remodeling, and new construction projects. We take on all different kinds of projects, and are especially sought out for creative and non-traditional projects that require skill and problem solving from all of our team. We work collaboratively as a team and you will be working alongside other talented individuals during your work week. We work Monday through Thursday, so Friday is a day that we hope you can use for rest and relaxation in the beautiful PNW.
AFDB is currently looking for a highly skilled, architectural draftsperson/designer with 3D modeling skills to work primarily on residential projects ranging from kitchen and bath remodels, to outdoor decks and siding, to custom cabinets and trim work, and maybe some metal fabrication projects as well. Some of our projects are high-end where detail, awareness, and quality of work and interactions with the client are important. We are looking for someone who is proficient in Google Sketchup that has a background in architectural drafting, design and management. Understanding of basic construction methods a must. We will consider proficiency in other programs as well.
We are a small company searching for a team member that is excited to grow with us.
Skills and assets that we are looking for in an ideal applicant:
-Excellent communication and organization skills
-Experience with and high proficiency using Google Sketchup (be prepared to show examples of your work)
-3 or more years of experience as a drafter and/or 3D modeler
-Capable of producing 3D model structures based on rough plans and vice versa
-Comfortable communicating with clients, contractors, suppliers, and staff
-Trustworthy, dependable and punctual
-works well individually, or with a team
-Ambitious and self-motivated
-Excited to learn new skills
-Detail oriented and take pride in your craft
-Pay attention to, and have knowledge of safety and preparedness procedures
-Maintain a professional appearance
-In depth knowledge and experience with local building codes and practices is a plus
Compensation:
Competitive pay - DOE (We are looking for a highly skilled person with exceptional skills and are prepared to compensate accordingly.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30-5:00 (36 hour work week) - (schedule varies in December and January)
