This position is ideal for an experienced software engineer who is passionate about collaborating with business and technology partners and engineers to solve challenging business problems. You will be the lead engineer of the Risk and Identity development team to design and build of software solutions that leverage data to solve critical and strategic business problems, build tools and services that safeguard Visa’s payment systems, including idea generation, architecture, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services that provide Visa clients with solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud for Visa and Visa client payment systems. A successful candidate should have in-depth software engineering skills that can guide the other team members on day-to-day tasks, familiarity of software development cycles to communicate with stakeholders effectively, great learning capabilities that can zoom in and out of projects based on business needs, and broad knowledge of Database, J2EE and Web technologies. Essential FunctionsDrive projects that involve full stack development using Java, Spring, Microservices, Rest based APIs, frontend frameworks like ReactJS and Spark/Scala based processing on Hadoop platformDrive solution architecture and technical architecture with product owners, engineers, and technical product managers to scale products to highly functional, secure, performant and resilient platforms.Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high quality solutions that conform to requirements, conform to the architectural vision, and comply with all applicable standards. Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms. Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely mannerCollaborate with project team members (Product Managers, Architects, Analysts, Software Engineers, Project Managers, etc.) to ensure development and implementation of new data driven solutionsDrive release planning exercise, track development and testing to timely releasesCollaborate with senior technical staff and PM to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until all are resolvedWork on emerging technologies, building distributed applicationsGuide and unblock other team members on day-to-day engineering tasks.Mentor/grow/hire the best engineers.This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.Visa is not offering relocation assistance for this role.
