Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the education sector. The Controller role we are seeking involves a high level of responsibility in managing accounting and finance functions. This position is instrumental in contributing to the implementation and setup of Workday, a major accounting software system.Responsibilities: Oversee the development of the chart of accounts to ensure financial data accuracy. Participate in testing processes to guarantee a smooth and reliable implementation of Workday. Review and clean up financial data regularly to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Contribute to the implementation of Workday Financial Management, ensuring its efficient operation. Utilize Microsoft Excel for various accounting functions and auditing processes. Leverage your previous experience in accounting software systems to enhance the efficiency of our financial operations. Assist in budget processes, making sure they align with the organization's financial goals and strategies. Utilize your knowledge and experience in Workday to improve our financial management practices.Requirements Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the education sector, particularly in a university setting. Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems for efficient financial management. Demonstrable experience in handling all Accounting Functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Expertise in Auditing procedures, with the ability to identify discrepancies and suggest corrective measures. Thorough understanding of Budget Processes, with a proven track record of managing budgets effectively. Familiarity with the Chart of Accounts and its application in financial reporting. Experience with Workday, specifically in the context of financial management in a university setting. Proficiency in using Workday Financial Management for streamlining financial operations and reporting. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to use advanced functions for financial analysis. Proven experience in Implementation of financial systems, policies, or procedures.
