Student Nurse Technician - PRN - Med/Surg

The Student Nurse Technician, under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), will provide high-quality cost effective care to an individual or group of patients. Under the supervision of an RN, the Student Nurse will perform a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living, which are tailored based on completed semesters in their academic program. Activities include taking and recording vital signs, collection and transporting specimens, performing hourly patient rounding, participation in Bedside Shift Report, assisting in the admission, transfer, and discharge processes, performing Medication Reconciliation, and educating patients on their plan of care, disease process, medications, and discharge instructions.
