Production Manager is responsible for originating loans and
leading a team of Mortgage Loan Originators responsible for growing the credit
union’s first mortgage originations. Responsible for sourcing and originating
mortgage loans, regularly updating and enhancing operating procedures,
departmental budget development and oversight, pipeline management, new
loan/new member focus, regulatory compliance, training, production calls,
development of mortgage business referral sources, and member service. This
position requires a complete understanding of first mortgage conventional and
government loan programs and policies, credit underwriting criteria, loan
documentation requirements, mortgage business development, and product
marketing, and should have a working knowledge of RESPA and all related laws
applicable to real estate lending. This position reports to
the SVP of Real Estate Lending.Responsibleand Accountable:
Implements, manages, and trackstactical goals for individual loan officers. Mentors, monitors, manages,and coaches the Mortgage Team to build referral networks and meet salesgoals.
Encourages growth and loan sourcingchannels (Realtors, builders, personal) with each loan officer.
Provide general daily guidance,education, motivation, and accountability to the mortgage originationsstaff.
Develop, analyze, andcomplete weekly and monthly reports to track productivity, loanturn-around time, and pipeline management. Ensures high member servicelevels.
Maintains a working knowledge ofcurrent underwriting, investor, and regulatory guidelines.
Loan originations in accordancewith credit union product and service offerings.
Optimizeorigination territories including branch and other sources so membersatisfaction and origination volume is maximized.
Overseelender credit/pricing requests to maximize volume as well as profitability
Partnerclosely with retail/branch team members to encourage greater awareness,cross-selling and increased volumes and profitability in lendingactivities
Managemonthly incentive plans and ensure timely and accurate commission payments
MonitorMLO and HLA compliance with pertinent regulations such as NMLS, RealEstate Settlement and Procedures Act, Truth in Lending, Fair Lending, HomeMortgage Disclosure Act, etc.
Must have NMLS number or be able to obtain NMLS
Produceindividual loan volume without negatively impacting ability to meet allother responsibilities.
Worksclosely with the SVP of Real Estate Lending to develop an overall market strategyfor individual loan officers and the Mortgage Department. Assists inplanning, creating, managing, developing, and participating in creditunion-sponsored seminars, meetings, discussions, training, or otherrelevant events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Solid understanding of the Real Estate industry, home refinancing and equity life cycle
Ability to lead origination talent to achieve quality, volume and profitable mortgage volumes
Strongrelationship building and collaboration skills
Ability to lead origination teammembers to comply with federal, state and local laws as well as creditunion policy related to Fair Credit, Equal Housing Opportunity, Truth inLending and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act throughout the mortgageapplication process.
Must have excellent mortgage orother commensurate lending origination skills
Excellent oral and written communicationskills
In-depthunderstanding of Credit Union or Bank business models as well asmember/customer habits, needs and desired experiences
Education and Experience:
Education: Associates degree or equivalentexperience.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of managementexperience within a lending institution
Experience with real estatelending and origination activities, particularly 1st mortgages
Experience leading banking orreal estate lending team members to strong results, in particular lending goals
