As a Experienced Database Administrator you will provide technical direction for database design, maintenance, and administration; evaluate and recommend available DBMS products after matching user requirements with system capabilities; and develop and formulate standards, procedures, and conventions for database use; typically reporting to a project director.In this role you will

Database Management Systems (DBMS): Mastery in managing various DBMS platforms, such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

Database Design and Modeling: Expertise in designing and modeling databases using tools like ER/Studio, Visio, or specialized modeling tools.

Performance Tuning and Optimization: Proficiency in tools like SQL Profiler, Query Execution Plans, and dynamic management views for optimizing query performance.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery Solutions: Experience in implementing clustering, replication, Always On, or other HA/DR solutions for data availability.

Backup and Recovery Tools: Mastery in using tools like SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), RMAN (Oracle Recovery Manager), or native cloud backup services.

Query Languages: Advanced SQL skills to write complex queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.

Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate routine tasks and deployments.

Database Security: Understanding of encryption, access controls, and security measures to protect sensitive data.

Monitoring and Alerting Tools: Familiarity with tools like SQL Server Profiler, Performance Monitor, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or third-party monitoring solutions.

Database Migrations and Upgrades: Experience in planning and executing database migrations and version upgrades with minimal downtime.

Data Warehousing and Reporting Tools: Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and tools like Microsoft SSIS, SSRS, Oracle Data Integrator, etc.

Data Integration and ETL Processes: Familiarity with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes and tools for data integration.

Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing: Design and execution of disaster recovery tests to ensure data recovery and business continuity.

Scripting for Data Manipulation: Expertise in writing scripts for data manipulation tasks using languages like T-SQL, PL/SQL, or others.

Version Control and Deployment Tools: Knowledge of version control systems and deployment tools for managing database changes.

Advanced Analytics and Reporting: Familiarity with data analytics tools, data visualization, and reporting platforms.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex database issues effectively.

Generally, leads a group of database administrators.

Develops and formulates standards, procedures, and conventions for database use.

Leads technical/programming staff to ensure database security from accidental or intentional loss or damage.

Determines file organization, indexing methods and security procedures for specific user applications.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Enforce safety protocols and ensure field technicians adhere to safety guidelines while working on-site.

QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will have:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

Minimum 6 years of experience as a DBA

Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimisation and data security

Knowledge of database management systems such as MS SQL, MySQL and Oracle

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide quick solutions to issues

Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment

Experience working with AWS environment

Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
