This position will be filled at a level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating design modifications to nuclear plant systems including the preparation and review of

Design modification packages using the standard design process

Site/System/Construction drawings

Calculations and analysis to support modification and operation of plant systems

Impact on plant design and licensing basis

Additionally perform field support for

Inspections of plant equipment and structures

Implementation of modifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for this job include the following: Engineer II - 3+ years of relevant engineering experience; Engineer III - 5+ years of relevant engineering experience. The candidate should have a commitment to safety and quality assurance in all aspects of design and operations at the station. Additional qualifications include:Must have a completed ABET accredited Civil engineering degree.Knowledge of engineering theories and principles.Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices.Equally effective working independently or in team environment.Proven decision-making skills.Ability to process information quickly and effectively manages multiple tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Willing to get into the field and perform inspections and walkdowns, project management activities and support of testing and troubleshooting of plant modifications.REQUIRED ENGINEERING CRITERIA: For placement of a candidate in the Engineer job series, the following criteria must be met: Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an ABET accredited Engineering program based on the year that the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Possess a 4-year Engineering degree from an institution outside of the U.S. which is accredited through the country's own Engineering accrediting body under the Washington Accord as a full signatory, and is a degree that was recognized by the country's accrediting body on or after the date that full signatory status was achieved, or Possess a 4-year degree in Engineering (non-ABET accredited), Physics, Chemistry, Math or Engineering Technology and a post-graduate Engineering degree from an institution where the undergraduate degree in the same Engineering discipline is ABET-accredited based on the year the Engineering program was accredited by ABET, or Holds or has previously held a valid U.S. Professional Engineer license.Education RequirementsRequired degree (equivalency not accepted in lieu of required degree):BachelorRequired discipline(s): Engineering, Mechanical or Civil. Structural Concentration preferred.Licenses, Certifications, or Quals DescriptionFor Nuclear purposes only: ANSI 3.1-2014, Section 4.6.1 ( must be documented on form HR-AA-101)Education: Baccalaureate degree in Engineering or related science (Physics, Chemistry, Math, Engineering Technology acceptable if all other pieces of the third prong of the Required Engineering Criteria listed in KSA section are met).Minimum Experience for the position:Related experience which shall include 2 yrs; Nuclear power plant experience to include 1 yr.Note: Years of experience in job summary exceed the ANSI requirement for related experience (3+ years required for Engineer II).Working ConditionsCold Up to 25%Energized Wires Up to 25%Heat Up to 25%Loud Noise Up to 25%Office Work Environment 76 -100%Operating Machinery Up to 25%Outdoors Up to 25%Radiation Up to 25%Travel Up to 25%Other Working Conditions
