- Develop, modify, maintain, and enhance existing systems supporting the Nuclear Business Unit.
- Work with Infrastructure Teams to understand and resolve software problems.
- Participate in the drafting of new project estimates.
- Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
- Program systems under development.
- Plans and schedules project testing for systems in development.
- Provide status reports to Project Managers and Supervision.
- Documents new and existing systems as requested.
- Troubleshoots existing programs or formulates logic for new systems, devise logic procedures, perform coding and test/debug programs.
- Analyse and revise existing system logic code and documentation as necessary.
- Prepares and obtains approval of system and programming documentation.
- Assists with computer support of assigned nuclear business applications and with the investigation of system requirements.
- Coordinates system upgrade activity as requested.
- Works from specifications to develop or modify moderately complex software programming applications.
- Designs and develops customer interface applications using .Net, C# or JAVA.
- Effectively contributes to team goals; work beyond routine nature of tasks utilizing your specialized knowledge and technology.
- Identifies required assignment tasks and their interrelationships across system processes.
- Applies business process improvement practices to assigned projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated ability to develop software code using the following web technologies: Java, HTML, C#, .Net or VB.
- Demonstrated skill in applying IT experience in business systems, in a large-scale environment, across multiple hardware and software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to transform software designs and specifications into high functioning code.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills that include the coordination of assigned projects, planning and scheduling, and time management to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal skills, with demonstrated verbal and written competency, and proficiency in presenting information to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated competency in analytical and logical thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the Information Technology team's knowledge of, and concern for, the business unit or project needs.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees and to influence and positively impact others.
- Ability to understand and apply a working knowledge of information systems, and to recognize when guidance is needed to address complex problems, or potential situations to avoid errors that may cause minor delay, expense, and/or system disruption.
- Experienced in the adaptation to and the application of rapidly changing technology to business needs.
- Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, System Programming, or Computer Science is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related work experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
