Groundskeeper

SUMMARY:Performs skilled landscaping and manual work necessary to maintain university properties.QUALIFICATIONS:Strong verbal communication and listening skillsProficient in English written and verbal communication skillsHighly thorough and dependableBasic knowledge of grounds maintenance and the equipment required to perform ground maintenance dutiesBasic knowledge of groundskeeping and elementary horticultural practices and proceduresSome knowledge of the pruning and trimming requirement of shrubs and treesEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: H.S. Diploma or GED requiredLess than 2 years prior work experience in landscape maintenance preferredWORK HOURS:Full-time, non-exempt positionMonday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; 8 hours a day; 40 hours per week; flexibility requiredAll Facilities employees are designated as essential personnel, and are subject to work outside the normal work schedule on an emergency basis, and are also subject to planned overtime work as required by the immediate supervisorSALARY STRUCTURE:Pay Grade 1 (Hiring Range $15.00 to $17.00 per hour)
