Cold Food Production I

SUMMARY: Cold Food Production I is an entry level cold food production position. Working under direction, Cold Food Production Cook I prepares food inquantity for assigned unit, and is responsible for maintaining high standards for food qualitywhile practicing proper sanitation, food safety, and cooking procedures.WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT: This position is designated as essential personnel and, during inclement weather and emergency situation sis required to be available to the University as needed.This position requires long periods of standing and walking, and the ability to lift 50 lbs., in conditions that are often, hot, humid, or cold. Must be able to safely use and operate typical kitchen tools and equipment. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, on occasion.QUALIFICATIONS:accuracy, even under pressureProficient in English written and verbal communication skillsPossesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environmentDemonstrated customer service skillsExcellent collaboration and team building skillsBasic knowledge of culinary techniques and practicesAbility to monitor and/or maintain quality control standardsSafe food handler certification preferred, or certification obtained within 1 year preferredEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: H.S. Diploma or GED requiredLess than 2 years' experience preferredWORK HOURS:Full Time, Non-exempt6a-3p, 8a-4p or 9a-5pSunday - Saturday, Hours varySALARY STRUCTURE:Pay Grade 1 (Hiring Range $16.60 to $17.00 per hour)
