Candidate will provide technical support (cabling, racking/stacking, initial configuration and ongoing management) of network equipment for a large LAN environment. Support includes Cisco routers/switches, wireless devices, some VoIP, problem determination, network design/engineering, installing and de-installing network gear.The role is “Senior Network Support Engineer” and the ideal candidate will have hands on network routing and switching experience, and hold CCNP credentials or equivalent experience. The engineer needs to have excellent communication skills, be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently in client facing situations, and will typically work onsite at Richmond, VA location M-F, 40 hours per week. The engineer will be asked occasionally to visit other clients sites in the Richmond area. The engineer must have a driver’s license and vehicle to travel to those other locations in and around Richmond. The engineer will also work in an ‘on call’ capacity one week out of every three in support of the network, and will occasionally need to work out of hours for network project implementations.
Services candidate will support:- LAN engineering / LAN infrastructure
- High degree of expertise in Cisco networking devices, i.e., switches, routers.
- Limited network device racking and stacking
- 7x24x365 on call support rotation
- Change implementation. Changes could be implemented off hours and weekends, depending on the needs of the business
- Excellent understanding of change management processes
- Onsite support requirement for the Richmond site
- Nexus skills desirable, including N1K, N7K, N9K
- F5 Load Balancer skills desirable
- Cisco certification(s) are a plus
- Cisco wireless skills desirable
- Good customer communication skills required

- Excellent teamwork in a remote support environment
- Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
