Carry out routine LC and LCMS methods in an ISO17025 accredited analytical production lab as part of an insourced services operation. Serve as Subject Matter Expert in the area of LC and LCMS technology for the team.

Serve as technical liaison to the client and laboratory leadership team. Perform advanced instrument and method troubleshooting; implement solutions.

Work closely with the client and the team to develop, optimize, and transfer new methods into routine production.

Collaborate with QA and Special Projects Team to resolve issues and challenges impacting routine production. Lead the efforts of implementing continuous improvement projects by documenting ideas, prioritizing projects, documenting projects, maintaining the status, and communicating status to client and lab stakeholders.

Mentor and train junior analysts.

Perform instrument calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, recognize-errors, identify root causes, maintain excellent working knowledge of instrumentation, and serve laboratory as an LC and LC/MS Specialist

Perform daily laboratory duties to include preparing samples, performing analysis, calculating data, recording/reporting data, performing general housekeeping in alignment with 5S standards, and performing other duties as assigned.

Review data, data notebooks, logbooks, and reports to ensure highest quality

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in chemistry (or related discipline)

At least 5+ years using LCMS in either the tobacco, smokes, or agriculture production industries.

In-depth, hands-on experience using LCMS laboratory instrumentation in method development, method transfer, instrument troubleshooting, and training/mentoring junior scientists (SME)

Experience with high throughput instrumentation, working in a fast-paced environment.

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the tobacco industry

10+ years of experience with LCMS method development and transfer working with small molecules

Position isMonday-Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm Overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Richmond, VAare encouraged to apply.
