Evaluates technologies, and where determined to be beneficial, drives their adoption within the business units. Introduces and fosters relationships and potential partnerships with startups and maturing companies. Communicates effectively with internal teams, making them aware of opportunities. Works with the innovation guides, developing and implement plans to bring viable, new technologies and startup companies into our internal, execution processes. Leads the management of our technology advisors who were selected to provide advisory services to the Innovation, Technology & Sustainability Council. Connects startup companies with the innovation guides and others in the business units, developing an implementation plan for pilots/POCs/experiments/prototypes to test the concepts. Identifies technical solutions that enhance the performance of our existing businesses by creating exceptional customer experiences (internal or external), by improving process and work flow automation, by reducing cost and waste, by increasing safety or environmental excellence, or by improving employee attraction, engagement, and retention. Performs technical research and evaluations for the innovation group, including but not limited to automation and robotics, fuel conversion and power generation technologies, infrastructure solutions, smart communities/5G communications, transportation solutions, decarbonization technologies, and artificial intelligence and software solutions. Reviews market analyses to identify potential technologies that may assist in growing the business and earnings. Develops and identifies potential investment opportunities in startup companies also providing a product or service to our company, or in venture funds resulting in gaining access to new markets or industries fitting within our strategic goals.Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & ExperienceThe knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:

7 years' experience in a technical or engineering role within the energy industry, with broad experience across multiple sectors preferred (power generation, electrical, natural gas industries) preferred.

Some transactional experience with third parties preferred.

Excellent project management skills.

Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Strong influencing skills with all organizational levels.

Ability to perform technical research, and to summarize results and recommendations succinctly, accurately, and clearly.

Ability to be a self-starter, capable of acting with a high degree of autonomy and a learning mindset.

Ability to stay on schedule with deadlines.

High level of comfort navigating ambiguous and unregimented opportunities, analyzing data and results, and developing concrete action plans.
