Survey - Instrument Operator

Koontz Bryant Johnson Williams is an established civil engineering and land surveying firm headquartered in Henrico, VA. We are seeking an Instrument Operator for our Survey Division.
Responsibilities include:
Perform routine, manual work of survey technician with a survey party under the direction of the Party Chief
Operate electronic total station instrument, theodolite, transit, level, and other surveying instruments
Clear brush
Determine and set markers
Read, review, and interpret maps, drawings, and diagrams
Use survey equipment such as tapes, chains, and sight rods; use moderately heavy equipment at times
Take field notes of readings and observations either manually or using an electronic field book
Make field sketches to record engineering data
Set and mark stakes for slopes, grades, and other construction purposes
Determine lines, corners, elevations, grades, alignments, angles, positions, and distances
Operate survey truck; maintain survey equipment and tools
Requirements:
2+ years surveying experience using onboard data collector.
Knowledge of survey computations associated with routine surveys and construction stakeout/layout.
Valid driver's license.
