Principal Cloud Architect Reston, VA

We are looking for a cloud solution architect who will be responsible of overall architecture and design of robust, scalable, cloud based applications. Cloud solution architects actively contribute to architecture designs best practices, cloud migration strategy, and cloud architecture adoption patterns which leverage emerging cloud native concepts, technologies and architectures.This position requires Bachelor’s s degree in Computer Science or relevant fields, has at least 4-6 years of solution architecture or integration architecture experience in the public cloud, preferably AWS, 12+ years overall experience in design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale systems. Experience with Health care industry is a big plus.Specific requirements include, but not limited to:Must have:• Strong white-boarding and Solutions Architecture experience• Proven strong technical architecture design background• Ability to analyze a problem from both business and technical perspective and design a solution which fits• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers• Excellent communication and inter-person skill set• Over 6+ years technology integration experience with Microservices, API Management, Cloud, RDBMS, and big data platform.• Demonstrated leadership leading teams in end-to-end implementations of applications on the cloud.• Must have architected large scale enterprise grade applications on AWS cloud.• Must be able to apply recommended best practices/ cost effective design patterns while migrating applications to cloud• Good understanding of cloud native architecture concepts, technologies and tools in cloud native landscape, and characteristics of cloud native applications.• Experience in defining technology stacks on the cloud, including Java/JEE stacks(Spring, Spring Integration), API/Microservice stacks(API proxy/gateway/Service Mesh), containers, streaming architecture stacks like kafka etc.• Good understanding of architecture frameworks like Togaf, Zachman etc.• Architecture and development experience leveraging agile methodology, SAFe, and DevOps.A big plus to have:• Ability to work effectively with all internal and external stakeholders.• Self-starter, independent and motivated• Experience in leading legacy application modernization/migrations to the cloud.
