Job Title: Direct Support Professional Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their well-being and quality of life. Responsibilities: - Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities - Assist residents with daily living activities such as grooming, bathing, and dressing - Implement individualized care plans to meet the specific needs of each resident - Monitor and record vital signs accurately - Administer medications following prescribed guidelines - Ensure residents' rights are respected and upheld at all times - Assist with lifting and transferring residents as needed - Maintain a clean and safe living environment for residents - Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to provide comprehensive care Skills: - Experience in childcare or working with individuals with autism is preferred - Knowledge of long-term care practices and principles - Ability to lift and transfer residents safely - Familiarity with assisted living facilities is a plus - Proficiency in medication administration procedures - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks when required Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications are a plus - Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory - Must be compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards individuals with disabilities - Ability to work effectively in a team environment - Willingness to undergo training as required by the facility Join our team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.
