Location: Lynchburg, VA Salary: Flexible Description: Electrical Tooling Engineer/Designer
(Fully on-site but could be hybrid as well for the right candidate) LOCATION: Lynchburg, VA DURATION: 6+ month contract with the possibility of going direct upon project completion INTERVIEW PROCESS: 1 interview; either video or in-person SHIFT: 1st TOP Skills Needed: • Electrical troubleshooting / basic digital and analog I/O debugging skills • Motion control troubleshooting - LabVIEW experience is helpful but not a must • Familiarity with debugging instrumentation (volt meters, loop calibrators, etc.) JOB DESCRIPTION: GENERAL SUMMARY: The ideal candidate will have electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with debugging instrumentation (volt meters, loop calibrators, etc.) is a must. This position requires experience with motion control theory involving coordinated motion, stepper motors, feedback theory utilizing resolvers, and basic digital and analog I/O debugging skills. A typical day would involve running and testing tools and sub systems with existing software and operating Instructions, then resolving electrical issues (incorrect wiring, parameter settings, etc.) as they are discovered Qualifications • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience • Electrical troubleshooting - The ability to interpret schematics down to the board level is helpful, but not a requirement • Motion Control Troubleshooting - LabVIEW experience is helpful, but not a requirement • SolidWorks Or CAD • Technical writing skills • Strong hands-on work skills for equipment/tooling assembly, checkout, testing, refurb/repair, and on-site troubleshooting • Must be able to obtain unescorted commercial nuclear facility site access, which means a clear criminal history and passing controlled substance drug/alcohol testing Please send qualified resume to: Contact: This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
