Please review the job details below.Maxar is seeking an independent, creative, and driven Sr. Software Engineer to help our team in our locations in Herndon, VA, or at a Northern VA government customer site by analyzing and characterizing big data and a range of other data sources for National Security purposes. - Contribute to the development of data analytics, user workflows and interfaces, security authentication, and service call architecture comprising a family of applications in our software suite
- Create rapid prototypes and design and implement complex, cutting-edge systems with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data to extract meaningful knowledge
- Work with emerging technologies and data science techniques in support of endeavors to address the critical needs of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other government agencies
- Must be a U.S. citizen with a current/active TS/SCI and be willing able to obtain a CI Poly Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8 years of related experience. A Master's degree may count towards 2 years of experience and a Ph.D may count towards 5 years of experience.
- Strong Java developer
- Familiarity with Scrum Master role/duties
- Willing to work onsite at Maxar locations in Herndon, VA or at Government customer sites in Northern Virginia
- Experience with Microservice-driven architectures
- JavaScript web frameworks (Angular, React, Backbone, jQuery, Ember)
- Strong object-oriented programming language (Java, Python) skills
- Familiarity with Spring framework
- OGC web services (WMS, WMTS, WCS, WFS)
- Kubernetes experience is a plus
- Cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM, Rackspace)
- Containerization (Docker, Linux containers, Jails)
- The familiarity with IC analyst workflows
- Experience with SSL/PKI, to include the ability to isolate and resolve SSL-related server and client issues
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Atlassian Jira and Confluence)
- Experience in machine learning and data science
- Experience with IC analytic tools (e.g., Analyst Notebook, Palantir, etc.)
- Experience with development tools such as Git, Eclipse, Maven
- SQL/database experience
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Effective oral and written communication skills to include active listening
- Linux experience
- C experience, particularly modern C is a plus
