One of my client companies is seeking an I.T. Specialist for their location in Staunton, VA, inside/outside position, base salary will depend on experience, excellent retirement benefits, health benefits, company vehicle, not a supervisory position.
Oversees the planning, administration, implementation and maintenance of the company's telecommunications infrastructure, and computer and software procurement and utilization. Information Technology
Title of Supervisor
Director of Finance & Administration.
Principle Responsibilities:
1. Network Administration and Management
Assists the Director of Finance & Administration in the managing, planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the radio and signal networks.
Oversees the administration of the company's LANs.
Implements network security.
Provides strategic planning for network improvements and upgrades.
Maintains signal and radio comms between field and RTC
2. Internal IT Support
Oversees and provides troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
Oversees the administration and maintenance of computer workstations and software.
Interacts with staff on all levels to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.
3. Asset Management
Assists the Director of Finance & Administration in the purchasing of software, hardware and other IT supplies.
Ensures that company assets are maintained responsibly.
Builds and maintains vendor relationships and manages the purchase of hardware and software products.
Ensures a timely and complete inventory of all IT related equipment is maintained.
Maintains and installs companies security camera systems and recommends new and improved products to safeguard company facilities and assets. Monitors camera systems on a monthly basis to insure proper operation and availability of recent footage
Maintains and installs Signal house cameras.
Oversees company radio installations in vehicles
Maintains and distributes handheld radio devices to the field
Oversee company Verizon Connect GPS Fleet monitoring system and sets up new installs and repairs
4. Telephony Management
Manages and develops upgrades to the company's telephone systems.
Manages and develops upgrades to the company's cellular phones.
Provides planning and research for changes to the telephone systems.
Assists Director of Finance & Accounting in overseeing telephone changes.
Manages company cell phone program.
1. Requisitions new/replacement hardware for employees using company phones.
2. Reviews monthly billing statements for accuracy, summarizes cost and usage data in a report, and approves bills for payment.
5. Special Projects
Assist Director of Finance & Administration in data collection/analysis/reporting projects as requested by other railroad management.
Required Skills and Experience:
Five years as network manager or other IT related role. Ability to work effectively with entire organization, resolve conflict, gain consensus, and to maintain confidentiality. Experience with Google Apps – Email and drive administrations, Domain Administration, Network Administration, Communications Equipment (cell modem, radio and cellular), General troubleshooting, Ubiquiti Networks, Telephones (VOIP and SIP).
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment and outside at another location. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Required Education
Prefer Bachelor’s Degree with a focus in Information Technology.
