DescriptionJob DescriptionLeidos is seeking a technical manager to support the NASA Langley Research Center’s Center Operations Directorate (COD). The role requires ability to lead a team of competent technical professionals. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific projects and contract goals related to Langley’s Center Operations Directorate. Duties may include ensuring that all programs run within scope, time, and budget constraints. This role interfaces with all levels of the organization as well as the NASA customer. Has budget accountability for work area or manage elements of the budget.This position requires the ability to lead teams and also work independently under the direction of program management. Responsible for leading the resolution of problems and issues often complex and require information gathering and analysis to understand the problem. Problems typically involve multiple small projects, families or customers.

Communicates with team members and program management as well as the NASA customers frequently. Requires ability to influence others outside of own area on policies, practices and procedures.

Manages a large team of experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Leads, directs and reviews the work of team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Typically has hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own area, in accordance with manager review and approval. Basic Qualifications

Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Generally has 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

Ability to obtain a NASA Public Trust clearance

Creativity to imagine innovative, effective solutions with a growth mindset.

Apply sound logic and reasoning against troubleshooting difficult issues.

Must be able to develop solutions to problems, as well as manage multiple issues at the same time.

Understanding and appropriately responding to feedback is an important aspect of this position.

Both oral and written communication skills are vital to relaying important information, training new staff members, and communicating about solutions to complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications

Kanban, SAFe using technologies like Jira or ServiceNow

Advanced understanding of DevSecOps concepts and Site Reliability Engineering
