Job Description
Payne Trucking has an opening for a Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate equipment deliveries throughout the Eastern Coast of the US, utilizing internal resources and external brokers in the most efficient and cost-effective manner available. We are looking for a dedicated employee to help deliver top notch service to our brokers and drivers. Responsibilities:
Communicate haul requests to drivers via offered communication methods
Understand driver and vehicle capability to perform the requested haul
Promptly communicate any delays, issues, or concerns with completing the requested haul
Ensure manifest integrity for all loads
Provide leadership, motivation and education for personnel directly involved with delivery operations
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent 1 year office experience in the transportation field Preferably at least 1 year of dispatcher experience
Geographical knowledge of the Eastern United States primarily the Northeast corridors.
Strong PC knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills are required
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to answer several phone calls at a time
