Overview:
The Production Operator is responsible for the fabrication of cut-to-size granite products using various saws, polishers, and other industrial equipment. Come join our team!
Responsibilities:
This role requires attention to detail, precision and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the following areas:
- Operating various saws including bridge saws and CNCs and other industrial equipment to fabricate cut-to-size stone products.
- Loading and unloading saw tables.
- Keeping production records.
- Providing routine maintenance and troubleshooting machines.
- Maintaining clean machines and workspaces at all times.
- Meeting production targets and quality control requirements.
- Operating in a safe environment according to established company guidelines.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications accurately
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques
- Strong attention to details and quality inspection process
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Desire to learn new skills
- Good computer literacy
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Strong math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, rate, ratio, and percent, common fractions and decimals) for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and feed rates.
- Must have a valid US driver’s license
Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various machinery.
- Preference for prior stone experience: countertop fabrication, any masonry experience, other natural stone experience. Not required.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED - minimum.
Physical requirements and Envorinmental conditions:
Work environment is indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment. The typical noise level for this job is loud to very loud. The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis: stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, handling and repetitive motions, movement of materials weighing 75 lbs. or more.
Compensation:
The pay rate will be dependent on the candidate's experience, and may increase during the interview process. The minimum starting pay rate is $23/hour. We offer great benefits, including 6 paid holidays and 80 hours of paid time off, plus health, life, and 401K matching.
