Help sell "real" local food outside on weekend mornings. We need workers at our farmers' market booth on Saturdays at Hurcamp Park in Fredericksburg. Particularly need good cooks, but prefer those who are comfortable with both the 'front' and the 'back' of the booth.
Please note that we are trying to "staff up" 1 to 2 additional good people before the market opens on April 12th. You will receive paid training (base only) in March leading up to this that will require you to commute at least 3 times up to the Arlington area (approximately an hour from Fredericksburg).
We are a heritage hog farm in western Goochland County (between Charlottesville and Richmond) who also vends hot food featuring the pork we raise [www.HogHavenFarm.com]. This a part-time weekend morning job, $12.50 per hour to start, plus tips and bonuses (make over $25/hr on a busy day, cash payment at end of shift). Free food and discounts.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and reliable transportation required. Shifts start as early as 6am and are rain or shine! So can't be afraid to get up early on the weekend or to work outside on days when the weather is not so great.
Please note that most days this is a fairly bustling sales environment that is more like working in a busy kitchen than a typical farm stand. We are interested only in people who enjoy this type of activity and understand how to work with the sense of urgency required when things get busy. If you think you have this quality, then we are willing to train you, even if you lack experience.
